Kim Kardashian is adding yet another accomplishment to her already extensive list of achievements, further solidifying her presence in the realm of high fashion. Marc Jacobs made a significant announcement on Wednesday, revealing that Kardashian will be the face of their Fall 2023 campaign. The campaign showcases a multitude of polka dots, oversized silhouettes, and iconic platform heels.
Captured by the lens of Tyrone Lebon and impeccably styled by Alastair McKimm, the images feature Kardashian gracefully posed alongside an expansive inflatable set, creatively crafted by PLAYLAB. In one captivating photo, Kardashian reclines on oversized chromatic blow-up letters, evoking an essence reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. She's adorned in a sleek black corset top, a form-fitting leather pencil skirt, polka-dot opera gloves, and a coordinating shoulder bag. Contemporary contrast is introduced by striking white strappy platforms and a beaded choker, seamlessly merging retro allure with modern aesthetics.
Another shot displays Kim resting her elbow on a colossal inflatable rendition of the same distinctive shoes, reminiscent of Bratz dolls. She's clad in a voluminous black puffer jacket and an oversized polka-dot printed skirt, exuding an air of casual chic. Black leather gloves and a gracefully curved shoulder bag complement the ensemble.
The final look exudes an air of bold sophistication, as Kardashian dons a black buttoned denim jacket featuring statement puffy sleeves and a peplum hem. This is paired elegantly with a knit skirt, polka-dot tights, and the miniature version of the iconic “The Totebag” purse from the brand. Throughout all the images, Kardashian's shiny brown hair cascades straight and long, parted in the middle. Her '60s-inspired makeup features a beige lip, ethereal white eyeshadow, and Twiggy-like lashes, completing the throwback aesthetic.
Marc Jacobs' Instagram account underwent a transformation, spotlighting Kim and the new collection in three posts. A video teaser for the collection was shared, followed by the unveiling of Kim as the brand's new ambassador.
According to a press release, the collection was inspired by runway showcases, artfully translated to align with the everyday lives of consumers. The collection is now available at Marc Jacobs stores and online at marcjacobs.com.
