In the recently premiered music video, Cardi dons three mesmerizing demi-couture headpieces by Harris Reed, created in collaboration with Vivienne Lake. Each headpiece perfectly complements an intricately designed cutout one-piece outfit, available in turquoise, hot pink, and bright yellow. To complete the looks, Cardi adorns herself with matching bangles, effortlessly showcasing the flowing grassy ensembles while showcasing her signature dance moves. If the couture creations seem familiar, it's because Iman wore a similar piece when accompanying Reed to the Met Gala in 2021.
Before the release of the song, Cardi offered a word of caution to fans who were expecting a sequel to “WAP.”
“I wonder how people are gonna react to this vibe because they’re really like expecting ‘WAP,’ like, ‘oh, here they go again talking this and that,'” Cardi shared during an appearance on the Whoo’s House podcast, as reported by Billboard. “We are talking a little, you know, about some pussy, but not like ‘WAP' type of stuff.”
Cardi also discussed the music video, although she didn't specifically mention the Harris Reed creations by name.
“It’s a different theme, and the video is like a whole complete different type of theme,” Cardi explained, emphasizing the intricate and beautiful visuals.
She concluded by expressing her admiration for her collaborator, highlighting the power of hot girls supporting each other.
“We put in our sweat and everything,” she declared. “It’s like on some ‘bitch, you jump, I jump… if you wit it, I wit it. We’re gonna do it.’ We worked so hard on the music video. You’re gonna see… that’s thought put into that.”
