Gigi Hadid’s Avant-Garde Jacquemus Campaign: Redefining Fashion Norms

When contemplating today's fashion scene, several names immediately spring to mind, and Gigi Hadid is unquestionably one of them. Not only does she possess a model-off-duty style that consistently grabs headlines, but she has also become almost synonymous with runway shows and is the face of countless fashion campaigns. As we step into the Fashion Month spotlight, Hadid has unveiled her latest campaign, likely to leave everyday folks somewhat perplexed, yet the true fashion aficionados will recognize it as an embodiment of camp. It's essentially a declaration: “This is fashion, deal with it!”

On a recent Tuesday, Jacquemus launched its latest campaign featuring Hadid. She posed in a vast grassy expanse surrounded by lush greenery while donning some unconventional attire styled by Ursina Gysi. Most notably, she wore a massive sculptural white spherical garment featuring a cleverly designed opening for Hadid's face and exquisite rosette detailing along the hem. This knee-length bubble dress was paired with matching lace Mary Jane flats.

In another striking image, Hadid reclined in a perfectly round ivory bathtub filled with foam, creating the illusion of bubbles. Her head gently emerged from the soapy water, with a lone cherry perched atop the froth. In yet another captivating photo, Gigi assumed a fetal position, draped in a “strawberry girl” red dress, characterized by the designer's signature puffy silhouette.

At one point during the shoot, Gigi sported nothing but an ivory cushion-like headpiece, clutching its sides with her perfectly manicured red fingers. Throughout the entire session, Gigi's makeup remained understated, allowing the attention-grabbing, unconventional silhouettes to take center stage. Her beauty look featured soft peach eyeshadow, rosy cheeks, and a subtle pink lip.

Beyond the catwalk and campaign shoots, Hadid also heads her brand, Guest in Residence, and is involved in Netflix's “Next in Fashion.” In a recent interview with W Magazine, she shared how her work on set has rekindled her inner theater enthusiast. “I was a musical theater kid, and I think that part of me loves to come out,” she revealed.
