Olivia Rodrigo has been absolutely slaying it this past week while promoting her highly anticipated sophomore album, GUTS. Not only has her new music received immense praise since its release last week (some even dubbing it the best album of 2023), but she has also been serving us a series of stunning looks, both old and new. Just recently, the talented singer-songwriter took to Instagram to share a photo dump featuring a vintage 1995 Todd Oldham ensemble, which fashion enthusiasts may recognize from the iconic runway moments of Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta.
But that's not all. On Monday, Rodrigo treated her followers to another carousel of photos, featuring not one, but two extraordinary little black dresses that defy the norms of your average LBD. The first slide offered a peek into her creative process, showcasing a snapshot of her notebook with the lyrics to her song “all-american bitch.” The subsequent photo showcased Rodrigo in one of the captivating LBDs: a vintage Betsy Johnson midi dress adorned with vibrant floral embroidery. Holding up a sign that read, “I spilled my Guts in New York,” she exuded confidence and artistic expression.
However, the standout outfit that truly captivated our attention was a mesmerizing, shimmery, and sheer Versace minidress from Dua Lipa's collaboration with the designer. Embellished with bedazzled butterfly appliqués, including two daring pasties, the chainmail frock featured buckle-detailed straps and a striking solid black band wrapped around her back. In one photo, she toasted with a friend while donning the exquisite piece, while in another, she struck a pose on a stairway, showcasing the full ensemble. Completing the look were ankle-breaking platform sandals and an assortment of eye-catching rings. Her lustrous, cascading hair was styled with a middle part and gentle waves, while her makeup embraced feathered lashes, a bronzy complexion, and a subtle beige lip.
