February may be synonymous with chilly weather and romance, but for fashion enthusiasts, it's also the start of the highly-anticipated fashion week circuit. This year's NYFW showcased an array of bold and glamorous hair trends, from dramatic updos to sleek slick styles, and everything in between. If you're looking for some inspiration for your upcoming fall/winter hairstyle, take note of these six trends that graced the runways.
#1 Dramatic Updos
For those who love a bit of romantic flair, look no further than Tia Adeola's runway, where cornrows and curls were transformed into towering updos. For even more drama, Thom Browne added a unicorn-esque horn to braids.
#2 Sleek Slick
The LaQuan Smith girl exudes sophistication and sex appeal, and this season was no exception. With a focus on sequins and satin in the collection, Lacy Redway, Unilever stylist and celebrity hair artist, achieved a polished look with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum. Brandon Maxwell opted for a “wet look” while PatBo went for a tucked-behind-the-ear style.
#3 Air-Dry and Go
Proenza Schouler showcased a low-maintenance look for women on the go, with lead stylist Guido Palau using Bumble and Bumble's Brilliantine and Spray de Mode Hairspray to enhance the models' natural sense of self. Ulla Johnson drew inspiration from the renaissance period, with Joey George using Oribe's Dry Texturizing Spray or Flash Form Finishing Spray Wax to add texture to blown-out, undone looks.
#4 Dainty Buns
Balletcore is still going strong, with Alice + Olivia featuring relaxed ballerina buns with soft waves, while Christian Siriano went for a neat bun at the middle of the head to showcase the designs. Jason Wu's buns rested on the nape of the neck for a chic and effortless look.
#5 Va, Va, Volume
If you're a fan of dramatic flair, Sergio Hudson's runway was the place to be. Models donned bouncy, fluffy curls in a half-up-half-down style, inspired by dolls. The Blonds showcased their signature exaggerated beauty with high ponytails adorned with even more hair.
#6 Bangin’ Bangs
Bangs are always in style, and this season, Kim Shui showcased straight and spiky bangs, perfect for a bold statement. Concept Korea took a different approach, creating old Hollywood waves with side bangs swooped into a slicked-back bun.
