The Haute Couture Week in Paris for Fall/Winter 2023-2024 was distinguished by elevating designs to high levels. The garments have transformed from mere clothing into priceless works of art, as expressed by designer Stephane Rolland. Among the notable fashion trends seen in the first day's shows were the platform heels by Georges Hobeika and the illuminated butterfly motifs embodied in earrings, belts, and even dresses.
Here are some of the most beautiful couture trends that marked the first day:
#1: Dragonfly Earrings
The designer drew inspiration from the dragonfly, a luminous blue butterfly adorned with sparkling gemstones. The designer incorporated the dragonfly wing motif into dresses and utilized hand embroidery and three-dimensional relief techniques to depict the structure.
#2: Embellished Headpieces
George Hobeika used headpieces made of organza or embroidered stiff tulle adorned with shimmering gemstones. They featured a head-covering element. Meanwhile, Iris Van Herpen incorporated head accessories that could cover the face, crafted from metal wires and embellished with embroidery or sparkling stones.
#3: Perforated Boots
The perforated boots, created using three-dimensional relief techniques, stood out with their sculptural artistic form, durable materials, and geometric lines, making them a standout piece that completes the look and adds a finishing touch.
#4: Sculpted Capes
Young talent Charles de Villmorin, who established his own fashion house and ventured into the realm of haute couture in his mid-twenties, designed a white cape that took the form of a sculpted face. This geometric design added an aesthetic dimension to the coordinated black outfit.
#5: Greek Sandals
Dior drew inspiration from Greek civilization and designed an ivory cape embroidered with gold threads on sheer organza fabric. It was paired with fitted trousers and worn with gladiator sandals.
#6: Puffed Sleeves
Rahul Mishra designed a metallic dress made of white sequins, featuring a bold and daring deep high collar and adorned with puffed sleeves.
