The collaboration between Dua Lipa and Versace has undeniably received the celebrity seal of approval. Following Taylor Swift's swift acquisition of one of the collection's most extravagant pieces for her Eras Tour immediately after its runway debut, Selena Gomez is now joining the trend. In a recent Instagram post, Gomez can be seen posing beside a large, sturdy trunk adorned with the collaboration's iconic polka dot and butterfly design.
According to Versace's announcement, Gomez is sporting a “long-sleeved button-down jersey Butterflies cropped wrap shirt” paired with a matching knotted miniskirt. Aptly named La Vacanza, the collection exudes a distinct vacation vibe, perfectly complementing Gomez's ensemble. To complete her look, she accessorized with Versace's Medusa Biggie Oval sunglasses.
Captioning the photos, she wrote, “A little Versace/Dua moment ????.” Gomez's stylist, Erin Walsh, also shared additional snaps on her own account, offering another glimpse into the poolside shoot.
Gomez recently made headlines when fans noticed that she had unfollowed several of her celebrity acquaintances. Reports stated that Bella and Gigi Hadid, along with Zendaya and Zayn Malik, were no longer on her list of followed accounts. However, a close source to Gomez clarified that there are no hard feelings involved.
“There are absolutely no hard feelings with anyone she unfollowed,” the source emphasized.
Gomez has been vocal about her aversion to social media in the past, often keeping a distance from her accounts.
“I would constantly be crying. I constantly had anxiety… I couldn't do it anymore. It was a waste of my time,” she candidly revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair when discussing her experience with negative comments. However, she remains open to certain platforms, including TikTok, for now.
“The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile. There are wonderful things about social media — connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories,” she explained. “But usually that's filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do, I send to my assistant who posts them. As far as comments, my team will put together a few things that are encouraging.”
