Stark Prints and Colors at New York Fashion Week Summer 2023
New York Fashion Week continues for the spring-summer 2023 season, and the taking part shows were characterized by common denominators that united the shows, strong prints, vibrant colors, and the dominance of white on the global catwalks, led by Carolina Herrera, which was executed by Creative Director Wes Gordon.
The shows were characterized by strong prints inspired by either geometric drawings or roses and plants with large flowers embodied on the canvas, and a tribal influence dominated some outfits with geometric stripes and stripes on the outfits. Among the most prominent shows that followed the trend of editions, we mention Studio 189 One eighty-nine.
Vibrant color with Serena Williams
Serena Williams launched her Summer 2023 collection in the S by Serena line, which featured vibrant colors, feminine wrap dresses, and Greek-style tube dresses.
Among the shows that adopted vibrant colors, we mention Badgley Mischka, in which strong colors such as phosphorous green and canary yellow dominated.
The bright white color in the shows
The white color also dominated, whether in the presentations of designers who used it either in a unified character or mixed with other colors, or with hand embroidery, or they mastered the fabric with the “Cut Out” technique implemented with 3D technology. One show that caught our eye on the fourth day of the event is the Global Fashion Collective show, which brings together young talents from around the world in one show.
