In case you missed it, Taylor Swift created history at the 2023 Video Music Awards by becoming the first person to win the prestigious Video of the Year award four times. And what better way to celebrate than making appearances at after-parties?
Shortly after gracing the pink carpet in a stunning high-slit asymmetrical black Versace gown, Swift underwent a complete transformation for her second look of the night at the Ned NoMad after-party in New York City. Opting for a different vibe, the superstar slipped into a micro-mini denim dress by L.A.-based label EB denim. The dress featured a patchwork corset bodice and a pleated skirt, reminiscent of Britney Spears' iconic all-denim ensemble from the 2001 American Music Awards, but with a modern twist that is distinctly Taylor.
To complete the ensemble, Swift adorned herself with stacks of gold chain necklaces, carried a silver crystal-covered handbag, wore matching glitzy platform heels, and sported an array of bracelets. In the beauty department, she maintained the same tousled updo from the awards show and enhanced her look with dramatic cat eyeliner and her signature red lip.
While accepting the Video of the Year award for her song “Anti-Hero,” Taylor took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards her fans and acknowledge the joy she has experienced during her highly successful Eras Tour.
“OK. This is unbelievable,” Swift shared. “I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me based on the memories that we've made recently. I've just been on a tour that has been the most joyful and exhilarating experience, and we're not even halfway done with it. It's really felt like the adventure of a lifetime this past year.”
She continued, “I cannot believe that it was a year ago at the VMAs that I announced the Midnights album. And all I have to say tonight is thank you. I’m blown away. Thank you so much to the fans. I love you so much.”
